March Poem


This is Hilary's March quilt. She says;
 "I have chosen to illustrate a verse from a favourite poem, 'As I walked out one evening,' by W.H.Auden.
The ocean is a mini quilt hanging freely from craft pegs. I have written the verse around the sides of the quilt."

    I particularly like the way the geese are shown flying in formation across the sky. The imagery of the poem lends itself beautifully to an interpretation in textiles.
    This is a delightful piece.

    Oh I love this quilt. We are just now hearing geese flying overhead on their way back from their winter flight. It is always a harbinger of spring here (in spite of so much snow!!)
