I bought some narrow striped black and white fabric at FOQ after much searching. However when I got it back to the hotel I discovered it was navy and white. Although the tools look to be a different fabric it is an illusion, it is due to the black and red vertical lines of quilting. The stripes are so narrow that I am not sure I could make a large hanging with this fabric.
On this blog the members of Sky-is-the-Limit group show the results of the challenge quilts they make. We started with each quarter a new theme, but have changed this to a monthly theme. Knowing that life can interfere with good intentions it is not compulsary to make a quilt each month, but at least 4 quilts per year should be doable. Every quilt measures 12"x12".

Opposites in Stripes
Thinking of opposites I decided to continue with my explorations of working with black and white stripes.
The opposites I cover are, black and white, large and small, round and square and looking at the pink circle is it in front or behind the black and white striped background. I think the scale is too small to get many illusions , it is quite easy on the eyes unlike some of my larger pieces.
Raw edge applique and vertical quilting in red and black.
