The Library Clock

December's challenge is "Painted Face" and this is Hilary's small quilt.

She says, "The Clock Face is a sample of their Fingerprint range that I purchased from the Kemshall's stand at Festival of Quilts. The surrounding fabric is part of a fat quarter that has been in my stash for years - nice to finally put it to use."

Townscape Reflections

"Townscape Reflections" by Hilary.

This is Hilary's piece on the subject of "Townscape". It is an applique panel under painted Lutrador. Hilary tells me it was "based on a photograph I took in Chester. I am looking into a shop window at a display with the black and white buildings across the street reflected in the glass."

On Golden Pond

Hilary is still having a few problems getting onto this site, so I am posting this for her.

In explanation of her delightful quilt, she says:

"Over the Xmas break I played with a variety of white fabrics and dyed them using union skins and tea bags.My film piece On Golden Pond is a result of one of these experiments."

Inspired by Ton Schulten

I used a photograph taken on holiday in Leicestershire of the local landscape. Ton Schulten's work really appeals to me with his use of colours.

Size is not everything

This is Hilary's quilt. Unable to get her work onto the site, she asked me to do it for her.

Inspired by a Van Gogh exhibition poster, the stricken sunflower touched by the frost leans over whilst the daisy remains unaffected.

The fabrics used include net which has been machine embroidered.

Hot

This is Hilary's wonderful quilt - full of words using hot. See if you can spot them. I had a lot of fun finding them all when I was lucky enough to see this quilt some days ago.

As Wil mentioned in the last post, Hilary has had problems posting her quilt to the Blog, so I offered to do it for her.
